That's a great post, Impalamania! I am one and a half days off completion of my first year. As such I am re-living every minute of this weekend, with all the stress that involved, in worrying if I could do it. Posts like yours just keep us travelling this road and reminding us of the benefits. I can relate to this and as such it helps. Congratulations and thanks for continued inspiration. Love Viv Xx N.O.P.E

Today marks another milestone...five years without a cigarette. Five years making decisions everyday to do something other than accelerating the dying process. It has been hard. It has been rewarding. It has been frustrating. It has been gratifying.
It also proves that YOU can do this, too! Statisically, now my risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, and bladder have been cut in half.
The power of nicotine is amazing. The amount of energy to CHANGE habits is exhausting. But the benefits are immeasurable.
-I now have more stamina for work and play.
-I have whiter teeth, fresher breath and don't smell like a smoldering ash tray all day.
-I feel better about myself and am VERY PROUD of my accomplishments
-I unwittingly became a role model for friends and colleagues who now, also, enjoy a smokefree life to better enjoy their loved ones.
-I now have cleaner smelling clothes, furniture and car....and can smell grandma's mothballs in the closest.
-I have more money as I setup a direct-deposit savings account to have my smoking money diverted every payday. Many projects have been completed
without breaking the bank due to these funds.
Thank you to my wife, my family, my colleagues and friends. Your support and patience is Christ-like. I have not always been a good patient and surely have tested your patience over the years. I am forever indebted for your help.
The best part of being smokefree? Playing with GRANDKIDS!!! You've seen the posts and blogs. My oldest granddaughter just turned TWO. We are best buddies. AND my oldest daughter will deliver her FIRST within the month!!!! THIS is a miracle and I get to have another rugrat to ruin!!!! Life is special. Live it everyday.

Thank you so much friends!!! It feels amazing!! All of you can do this! I haven't been very active here for couple of years. It actually gets to be so easy as time passes you don't feel the need to log on to SSC. I've made some amazing friends during this journey and saved a ton of cash. Keep up the fight you guys! You can do this!!!

Life is a rollercoaster and I am simply proud and honored to still be a part of it. Enjoy EVERY moment, friends. Make every second count and make the world a better place because you cared enough to make a decision and make a difference.
Keep the Quit,
Dave
