Breaking Free, I found my relationship at this stage particularly difficult (yes I was the difficult bad tempered one). If you are like me, you will find that this will pass; I still have my moments but they are fewer and further between. You are always very positive here. If you are down - feel free to rant and rave - take back a little of what you have given. BF My take is that this is normal. There are many threads here that deal with anger, few with sadness and grief, all emotions connected with quitting. yes, especially at work. i just keep harping on & on & on about it untill something gets done or the person in question gets it sorted - no need to bottle it up. I don't care what anyone thinks anymore.. this is the new me + it works all the time ! what i recommend though is exercise, exercise & more exercise it shure beats the frustration out of your system.. Breaking Free.. You are doing everything you are supose to do. Taht is a really good list that I need to add to my quit diary. Let go and let God. Sometimes that is all we can do. Don't make any decisions right now. While 77 days is a lot you are still very early in your quit and learning to deal with life without the crutch. You may look back on this time and think it wasn't so bad after all. Just keep an open mind and try to hang on. Communication is key. I'm no good at relationships so I try not to give advise. Just think long and hard and be sure to ask the good Lord above for guidence. He won't ever steer you wrong. He promises that. Keep taking those deep breaths. I am really hoping that you are going to wake up tomorrow and feel so much better than you do right now. Quitting is Hell. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Its emotional turmoil and you just have to get through it. You are strong and you have the courage and attitude you need to survive. Lean on what you have learned over the past 77 days and the people here on this site. You will get through this and you will NOT smoke. You have come too far to turn back now. Perfectly normal. Trust me! Until recently, I was posting about emotions on a regular basis. Keep trying different things until you find what works for you. Don't forget about the rewards. They are very important. I notice that when I start getting down, it's reward time. Fill your mind with positive thougths and inspirations. Not always easy I know but keep trying. I have had such a hard time with my emotions during this journey. I have to be very careful because about the only time I feel like smoking now is when I let emotions get the best of me. Sometimes its good to just go ahead and go with the flow and let it all out. Have a good cry, stop fighting the emotions for a while and just let them be what they are. Let it out and then move on. It's been a work in process for me and I really don't have any easy answers for what to do. The best advice I could give you is keep putting one foot in front of the other and no matter what happens do not smoke! You have a great quit there and you don't want to lose it. Take some deep breaths and know that you will find what works for you. Keep searching until you do. Hand in there! Breaking Free, I do hope your hubby will join us and I also hope he will actively participate, post, ask questions, give support/encouragement, and listen to what we tell him. BF's Hubby: This site will really help if you let it. "if you let it" being the operative phrase. It is the sole reason I quit and stayed quit. Lord knows, I certainly didn't do it alone. If face-to-face would work better, BF has my IM name. I'm just a guy who quit and don't pretend to be a shrink, but I'd be glad to meet y'all. Like everyone else has said, this is a real bad time for either of you to be making any major decisions. Take it slow, think before you speak, and maybe just don't speak at all sometimes. Breaking Free, I think learning to handle emotions without the crutch of smoking is the hardest part of the quit. It certainly takes the longest time. What I've found helps is much like what Josie suggested. I change what I'm doing. If something gets me frustrated, I just set it aside for a while. Some things you may think can't wait, but I've learned that pretty much everything can wait. Especially if it's getting to you. You get upset, make mistakes that cause more frustration, etc. Break the cycle, set it aside, do something else for a while, let the subconcious roll it around. Often, when you come back to it, the source of the frustration is taken care of.
