DJ, have you spoken to a doctor about this?  Nicotine is a stimulant and quitting smoking disturbs the hormonal balances in the body and brain.

DJ, the first week or so I slept a lot.  Never feel asleep driving, that is scary.  Drink lots of ice water when you are driving, chew some gum or find someone to drive you while you are going though this.  I must tell you I loved the sleeping part, because I don't sleep well.  That has passed and now I am back to my old ways.  Hang in there, you are doing great.

DJ,

Fatigue is a common withdrawal symptom and is generally the result of:

  • Your metabolism slowing down
  • The lack of nicotine which is a stimulant
  • The increase of oxygen present in your bloodstream
  • Nightly sleeping disturbances
  • Caffeine withdrawal
Take naps if you need to as you wait for this withdrawal symptom to pass. If it persists beyond the first few weeks of your quit, see your doctor for further assessment.

Scares the crap out of me. It's not like falling a sleep when your sleepy. It's almost like
passing out. Usually starts about the third or fourth day. Does anybody have help for this?
I get alot of sleep because I fall a sleep and sleep a lot to the point of I can't stand myself.
