First Smoke Free Weekend Coming Up! (a little nervous):gasp:

I was pretty careful because the last time I has 31 days went out with friends and wound up smoking. It took me a year to get back into this quit. I went to the casino about two months ago to a concert. It was disgusting. The next morning my throat was scratchy and I had all the symptoms I had been calling sinus for years. Just be careful and remember second hand smoke is not good for you. Don't stop your life either. Take you some fresh air breaks and keep your guard up. Stay strong Ella! Visualizaions are a great way to prepare. Keep that up. Also, if it gets too tough, just leave. No one will think of you as rude. You need to look out for what's good for you right now and take it a little bit at a time. No, we can't hide out from smoking situations for the rest of our lives but, we can leave them if they become too uncomfortable. You have such a great outlook on things, that will help you find the strength you need to get thru this weekend smoke free!! We are here for you! Rock on, smokerella, you can do it! I, too was very nervous about going out "with the smokers" the first time. But, shock of all shocks~~the smell of cigarettes on them actually made me feel queasy! I did not like the smell and my only problem was the fact that all I could think of was all the times people must have smelled that on me and thought and felt the same way I feel now. Just keep looking at it as a turn off...and then you won't light up. I know you can do this. I am going to a concert tonight and out with friends, and finally, I do not feel the least bit anxious about it. I am looking forward to a good time and not missing a thing by having to sneak out and have a cigarette. Hi All, This weekend will be my first weekend as a non smoker and boy it's going to test me! Tonight I have an engagement party to go to but I have already been visualizing myself not smoking and drinking Diet Coke instead of beer so I am not tempted to smoke. Then Saturday I am going to another party which is in a house that people can smoke in...EEEK!:8o: Good thing is I have my girls with me who are so supportive and will help me through this. I know a lot of people note that they stop going out or stop going to places where smoking is prominent but I figure that if I keep hiding away from a smokers world I'll never be able to live in it as a non smoker....makes sense right?? Well I've made it to day 5 and I'm not about to take 3 steps back...only giant leaps forward! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/4/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 64 Amount Saved: $20.32 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 33 Seconds: 38
