I am not there yet... I felt antsy ... just before 50.. it is gone now... it is so good to know that these feelings happen... and hopefully knowing will help in being "prepared" or at least know it may happen.... Hang in there.. We are all here for you... Grin, Of course you miss something!! It's perfectly normal. How could you not miss something you have done for so many years. It's something we go through in life all the time. If we move ....we miss the old neighborhood...(till we settle in) If we change jobs we feel inadequate...(till we adjust) When the kids are grown and fly the coup we feel lost....(till we fill the void) It's natural. Something is now missing.... and we find ourselves in unfamiliar territory. I also find looking at the meter and seing how many I havn't smoked refreshing. My first run without smoke filled lungs was invigorating. I couldn't believe how quick the change starts to happen. It just makes me think, what else can I do better now. That's funny Skullyfrost. The meds were probably just as potent as ever, though. They have expiration dates on meds and say that they could loose potency after the expiration date but, I doubt it occured after only a month expired. In my opinion, it takes quite a while to get used to not smoking. I know I haven't filled all the voids yet. The important part is that we notice what the feeling is and deal with it best we can. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 102 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,060 Amount Saved: $596.70 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 3 Mins: 37 Seconds: 36

Well, I haven't made it to the 4-5 month mark but I am hoping too. I actually just nocticed that the chantix I have been taking is expired. It actually expired the month before I quit. I never really noticed the date, I just took the meds. So, I guess the cold turkey thing worked. That and my husband. I really miss smoking but I am holding strong. I have signed up for more classes and have bumped up my workout routine. I have also joined a book club. So, even though I feel like something is missing, I just have to keep telling myself that I am filling it with something better. Gosh Ya'll! You are all right on target here! I am missing my "meditation" time outside on my deck. I think I may make it a point to bundle up and go hang out there for short periods every so often. Just so I can once again enjoy the birds, the stars and moon again. I am also thinking of taking up yoga (indoors of course!) I know that I am at a transition period and I can now move on to more demanding activities. I am at a stage in quitting that the newness and novelty has worn off a bit but, I am still not the experienced, knowlegable(longtime) quitter. (I quess I am going through puberty??) :quest: I just don't want to fill the void with other bad habits. Like caffine, too much wine, empty calories or exsessive shoppinng. :eg: thanks for listening!! Yea Grin, I call this the "nag". Some days, it just is all present, all the time. The restlessness, the feeling like something is missing, like I should be doing something that I am not. Hopefully, this will go away with time. It is annoying. I still have never had the knowingness that I am totally free from this addiction. I still think of smoking everyday..so, I am waiting for the awareness..that I am totally over it; that I never want to smoke again. I think that the only cure for this restlessness is time. As time goes on, the freedom will emerge. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 192 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,608 Amount Saved: $960.00 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 13 Mins: 30 Seconds: 26
