I was fortunate during the beginning of my quit. My boss didn't smoke, and told me I could come here as often as necessary. I would get on line and wait for five responses. By thee I had all five, the craving subsided.

Hey Sparky....You've got it going!!

Hang in there!

Yes doing something that I enjoy does help in my crave basket..If exercise works for you great, if not find what does?..Exercise is just a suggestion..The options are limitless.  Candy, raw vegetables, a nap, visiting with friends, a movie, a walk at the mall, a country drive, reading, hobbies, gardening, prayer, writing, crosswords, word finds, etc etc etc..Just start a crave basket and see where it goes..

Smoking is not just about craves it is something I used to do. My son told me this yesterday after a year of being nicotine free that he didn't really have craves anymore but he missed the nicotine sometimes..It was something he used to do. Sometimes just to pass the time..I could so relate to his words of wisdom and his advice. He said to remember that you will have times when you will get craves or you may just miss smoking because it is something you used to do. This person used multiple forms of nicotine..Gum, patch, cigarettes, chew. Not all at once but as a means to quit one form or another of nicotine addiction..I am so glad my son quit and is sharing his experience with me..

Sharing is such a important part of helping yourself and others quit and stay quit..

This is my little word of advice that I want to share today..

Roses,

Walking and other forms of exercise are great if they work for you! Glad to see you're committed to NOPE!

Keep up the great work!

My favorite thing in my crave basket is walking..walking and more walking..No where special just getting outside and walking..Like today I am going to do some walking at the swap meet..yesterday I did some walking a the bay..It was a beautiful day..

Just do something... Anything that you enjoy will do..
NTAP..never take another puff...NOPE not one puff ever..
Life is so much better without the smoke screen..

Hey Tired Mommy!!!

Your welcome... just part of the "pay it forward" service!  Besides the actual basket items, I also walked the stairs during work!  When a crave hit, I'd just walk into the next building that had 19 floors!  I'd concentrate on rhythmical deep breathing with every step.  It worked well!!!  I distracted myself, got a little exercise and fresh air and then went back to work!

Who else has a suggestion for our collective Crave Basket?

Good bump! Old threads are often time capsules.
