mjbsuns, while your frustration and disappointment is natural, don't let those things get in the way of further progress. You had a slip, and the fact is that MOST people who successfully quit smoking... have at least a few slips before attaining long term success. So... you're in good company.
And yes, some people get it first time out, but they're the exception, not the rule.
You know how many 26 year olds come to SSC and get over a hundred days? I don't know the exact number either, but I'll bet that very few do. There are a fair number of older quitters that do, but not many at the age of 26. So... you're doing very well, as far as I'm concerned. You just need to get back on the horse, now, and keep going.
And while you may have ratchetted up the psychological craving somewhat, I don't think you'll have to go through hell week, At least not to anything like the degree that you did initially.
Your hundred plus days taught you something about staying smoke free, and so did your slip. Use it to your advantage... and get back on track... NOW, before you get entrenched as a smoker again.
We're rooting for you, mjbsuns! We want you to succeed and to win back your life! You went a long way, a day at a time. Well... it's still today. What are you going to do with it?
