I think the most important thing you said in your post was that you are learning from your mistake (or really, just a bad choice) and that you know why you did it. That is really important.
Also, the health benefits of quitting before you hit 30 are HUGE. I know because I have already proven Mr. Penitent wrong and you can join me ;)
