Easy or Hard?

Hard. I had a great positive attitude....I knew I could do it. And it was still hard! The first 3 weeks were hurrendous! :8o: The next 5 months were difficult. :gasp: The next 5 months were hard. :( I had a couple good months :| , then canning season started along with all kinds of cravings! I think I finally turned a corner in the last two months! :) I can finally say that most days I don't think about cigarettes! Wahoo! (I've been watching other people say that after a couple months quit...it is soooo nice to finally say it myself! :p ) ~lbugg~ My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 519 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 29,087 Amount Saved: $3633 Life Gained: Days: 50 Hrs: 14 Mins: 16 Seconds: 26

I can't say either "easy" or "hard." Like most here, I have also said it's the hardest thing I've ever done. But then I think....was it harder than the year I spent watching my father die of cancer? Was it harder than dealing with an alcoholic emotionally abusive ex-husband? Was it harder than leaving him after 20 years? Was it harder than the four years I took care of my mother who had Alzheimer's? Quitting smoking was hard. No doubt about it. But looking back now, I'm ready to move on with my life. I'm ready to stop identifying myself as an ex-smoker. The same as I don't live with that man anymore...I'm on to letting the past be in the past, and living in the now. I joined a cessation class. Put patch on when I quit after the third meeting. I can honestly say that I never had a craving that was tuff. I used proper coping skills and it just simply worked. Hence, my quit was easy. Lindsey PS - I was not around the smoking public, no one in our home smoked, and therefore I feel I had a real advantage.
