Scaredycat-no-more, It's possible. Caffeine and nicotine produces the similar stimulation in the brain although the link between use of Chantix to reduce caffeine intake has not yet been researched. Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Thanks Freemom. I seem to walk around in circles half the time. I'm wondering if the Chantix is blocking my coffee cravings, too. I usually crave coffee periodically during the day, and now I forget to even drink any, and I am a HUGE coffee drinker. Just another one of life's little puzzles. Hey Cat. I saw you mentioned being lethargic on another post... Let me tell you, that seems to be one of the most common early side effects of not smoking. It has something to do with the oxygen you're taking in and your body healing. It does pass (took me about 3 weeks, I finally have energy this week!) but in the meantime try to nurture yourself. Take a nap, veg on the couch and watch a movie, read a book, etc..., soak in a bath, read the paper with a cup of herbal tea ... whatever works for you! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 26 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 320 Amount Saved: $106.08 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 11 Mins: 9 Seconds: 51

And Freemom is the QUEEN of chocolate! I learned so much from her... and not only about chocolate but about avoiding the nicodemon, too! Thanks Freemom! Hi Cat! I'm another chocoholic! But I think it is good during the quit because it stimulates one of the feel good chemicals in the brain. Don't think it's the same one as nicotine, but any good feelings that don't come from tobacco are ok by me. scaredy, Use the chocolate as a reward! Save a few pieces for the weekend and really indulge. Use some new coping mechanisms if the other ones are getting old. I think chocolate is great in moderation, however, we may have to start a support group for those of you with a serious addiction! Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.

Dark chocolate is my favorite. It is good for you. I like to think it will help move out the toxins from smoking. How about an amusing story. I was shopping and in an immediate fit of choco-crave picked up a package of semi-sweet chocolate bits the kind you put in cookies. I opened the package and munched a couple at a time. When it came to check out, I took a handful and put the open pack on the check out belt. A man behind me said 'you shouldn't eat those raw". I looked at him and said 'Why not, they aren't "raw". He said "Eating raw chocolate chips can kill you. You have to bake them first." I said 'Did your mother tell you that?" Yes. "Were you like ten years old with your hand in the chocolate chip bag?" Yes. I had to correct him and tell him that his mother just wanted him to leave the chips alone so she'd have some for the cookies. He believed that all of his life!

Smokey, I could hear the voice on that one! Something like Cookie monster? :eg: Oooooh.... Cookies? Glad I've resisted that so far. :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/19/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 275 Amount Saved: $50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 15 Mins: 23 Seconds: 50
