lawchick, My symptoms seem to be worse the week before my period. I talked to my Phy. and she did blood work, and I'm fine. She did say that is is very normal for someone with PD to have increased anxiety before your period. PMS I guess. She explained that we (people with PD) are so hypersensitive to everything going on inside our bodies, that we notice things other people don't. Every heartbeat, gas bubble is a heart attack or serious illness. I know I'm healthy, I just remind myself when I feel something strange that it is just energy traveling through my body, and I'm ok. The less attention I pay to it, the quicker it goes away. I know how you feel, I felt the same was about a year ago. I had a "revisit" from my old friend Mr.P about 3 months ago. I thought here we go again but this time it was eaiser to get back on my feet. I hope you feel better soon. If I can help let me know. There is a Light at the End of the Tunnel!!!! S

Hi - thank you guys for your comments. I seem to be on some kind of bad cycle - it'll pass. Yesterday got better. Today I was fine - pretty relaxed. I stood up and was immediately dizzy, feeling really anxious for no reason. I think my episodes might be related to my hormones. I'm starting to notice a pattern. Hopeful - i would never laugh at what you do - good for you! It's funny how that stuff seems important before your health (mental,physical, spiritual) starts to wreak havoc on your life. Delivering pizza sounds pretty good to someone who can't get outside. :)

Lawchick, I'll take that as a compliment, but you are going to laugh when you find out what I really do! I'm a pizza driver and a landlord on the side! I've been delivering pizzas for 17 years! But don't laugh too hard, I've been able to buy four rental houses with tips! It's fun to deliver to one of your own houses and get a tip and a rent check at the same time! Good luck with your panic and I'm so glad you left the house! Good job! Baby steps is what it takes to beat this. Pat yourself on the back!

Actually lawchick... I didn't do anything...YOU DID....!!! and it's what you will have to do again, if you intend to get on with your life. The more you practice, the easier it becomes. I firmly believe we have way more power than we ever give ourselves credit for. The more I face my fear, the less power it has over me. It gets weaker every day that I stand up to it.

Everyone is right on the money here! Please try our Anxiety Test and our Panic Diary. With the Panic Diary you will find that by tracking your "symptoms" you may find the triggers of your questionable panic/anxiety. With our Anxiety Test after you have completed the test you can print the results or e-mail them to your doctor. Finally, our Panic Program is divided into twelve weekly sessions. Hopeful and Kitcat...you just don't know what a blessing this site has been to me. Thanks to your messages, I picked myself up and left the house - and it wasn't easy. I took a piece of a Benzo, and had to talk to myself the whole way, but I swore that with God's help, come hell or highwater, I was leaving. "Hopeful" - are you a lawyer - the assumption of risk thing suggests you might be??? Thank you. I'm going to follow your advice.

Lawchick, if you have seen a dr, then I would say it's panic. Panic can bring on any physical symptom that you can imagine! I have had a "gulp" and then a racing heart, can't breath, etc, etc. When it happens, I tell myself it's just panic. You must assume the risk that it is something else and choose to believe that it's panic. We panic sufferers don't want to take any risk, we want to be assured that we are ok. But we are always going to "feel" different symptoms in our bodies and we can't live life worrying about each thing. This is especially hard for me. I have had to work hard on this one. It's becoming much easier the more I practice and I don't have these syptoms much anymore. Remember that panic is looking for a way to scare you. It wants you to get all excited about something, so it's actively searching for the scariest thing it can think of to hit you with. I hope that you are feeling better by now. I know how you feel!

lawchick If you've had all the tests, it looks to me (JUST my opinion) that it is likely part of the panic. You may want to try reassuring statements, rather than negative ones. Given that you've not suffered a heart attack or anything remotely close, THINK about it? How much sense does it really make that there IS something wrong? Breathing is super important when attempting to calm yourself down. I use it anytime I feel like I'm getting too tense. Only you have the power to be able to do that for YOU. Will any amount of external reassurance really calm you down? And if NO ONE has had the same experience that you are having, does it mean that's bad or weird or destined to do harm? If they HAVE HAD the same experience as you, does that make it ok? Just something for you to consider.... ;)

Hi Melanie- I've had tests - echo's, EKG's, halter monitor. I just don't understand how this can be anxiety. I don't get it. That's why I posted the message this morning asking if anyone had ever had this from just laying in bed, with none of the other associated symptoms. A thump in the chest that comes with a quick short of breath feeling -- then racing heartbeat. I think Ive had panic attacks since all my s*** started, but usually I feel myself getting worked up. I feel like I'm going out of my mind, I'm so upset.

Lawchick, Would it help you to get a medical opinion? Do you have access to a medical facility? If your pain does persist then please at least call you doctor. Better to be safe! Keep us posted! Melanie
