You need to sit and talk with hubby about what being a nicotine addict really means. It's a worse addiction to break than heroin. for an eye opener, do web searches for quitting smoking and withdrawal. The more you learn the better prepared you are to handle what may be thrown at you....you can't know too much about nicotine addiction and withdrawal....this addiction is insidious and you will BE a nicotine addict for the rest of your life....yes you can quit, but the addiction is still there....much like an alcoholic. For quite a spell it lies in wait for the opportunity to once again take over your thinking and then your actions. It's really important to stay in "control". You need to be GOOD to yourself through all this. Snacks, regular meals, plenty of rest, treats and pampering, avoiding stressful situations and lots of time spent feeling good about yourself!! Set up a reward program and keep active at rewarding yourself.
You are going to have some times of thinking it's damned near impossible to stick with this....but you CAN....all you do is distract and delay from going for the smokes. This isn't a case of "can't smoke" but a case of "choosing" to say no.
