craving like hell week

for 18 år siden 0 233 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I don't know if its because my 100 days is almost here or what but I am craving like hell week again. Now, now don't get scared all the newbies it could just be that around 100 days is when I lost my last quit. I am drinking lots of water, doing deep breathing. But all I feel like doing is screaming and crying! And I can't do that at the office! I have not been around smoke nor had a smoke so don't know where this crave is coming from, but I just keep thinking "craves don't kill anyone, smoking does!" Hope it passes soon thanks for being here! ~Valic My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 83 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 417 Amount Saved: $439.9 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 22 Mins: 27 Seconds: 27

Thanks everyone for those awesome words! I am feeling much better. Last night I had dinner with friends my reward for winning the crave. And then I just went to bed. Today was much better only thought of it a couple of times. Tonight a hot bubble bath, because its really cold here in Boston lol. Maybe even dinner out if Hubby is on board. But I didn't cave, on with the quit! ~Valic My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 84 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 423 Amount Saved: $445.2 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 0 Mins: 35 Seconds: 27

First of all, I recognise everyone's quit is different and I agree completely. What I don't agree with is that after the first 30, 60, 90, 300 days... that the desire is no longer ever present. Perhaps that comes as the years progress. I dunno...I've never gone that long. But I can tell you that there has not been a day since I quit that I have not thought about a cigarette. Now, having said that, please don't let that frighten you. Those 'thoughts' are so minimal and pass so quickly. However, I have had some doozy craves when least expected...rare anymore, but they are still there. You can pull through this, Valic...you are stong and have set such an example. I know it's not always easy, but the worst is over. Now it is maintenance of the quit. The basics have been acquired. Just remember how far you have come! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 140 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,046 Amount Saved: $1120 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 22 Mins: 10 Seconds: 47

valic - my friend - boy do I remember being where you are - and leaning on those who went before me... Just hold on tight - REALLY TIGHT. I promise you this will pass. As the clock ticks and time passes, so will this place you are in. Find some distractions that really take you away and just get lost in them - they held me together when I was where you are. And cry if you need to - take care of yourself right now - be kind, spoil yourself and make sure to do rewards! We're all right here with you, friend- h o l d o n! You are perfectly normal Valic. Just hang on and wait for it to pass. There is that point around the 100 day mark. Not everyone experiences it but a lot of us have. Don't stop now. You would hate to actually be in HELL week again! Kick, scream, cry, fight, punch a pillow, break dishes, whatever it takes, just don't smoke. Valic, Alot of people have a tough time around the 100 day mark. I don't know why, but it is very common. It will pass. You have come out the winner. Your committment is inspiring. Aunt Deb, just so you are ready...craves can most definitely happen at 50 days, 100 days, 125 days, 175 days or 200 days! But, what I understand, as time moves on, the "craves" are not really craves, but just thoughts of smoking that are easily dismissed. Soon, they pretty much disappear. Being quit for 100 days is a wonderful accomplishment, but, most say that it takes a full 365 days to really begin to feel the total freedom from nicotine addiction. Everyone's quit is different. valic, How are you today? Was there something that triggered this? It is normal around this mark in your quit, but it doesn't last long. Get your mechanisms and beat it to the curb :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
