Moqueen, Generally we recommend that you complete your entire course of patches. We support your decision to try cold turkey but know that you can always go back should you feel the need. If you do decide to go back to patches, consult your pharmacist to determine how much longer you should be on them. Some quitters have no problem stepping down, others have an adjustment period lasting a few days. Remember you are not alone and that it will pass with time. If you decide not go back on the patches, get back to basics. Use the same coping strategies that got your through the first week of your quit. Keep busy and reward yourself often. Keep us posted on how you're doing. Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

Mo, glad you are trying without the patches. Just remember, you can always go back to patches if needed. As for the killing people, almost killed my hubby over a box of cereal . moqueen, It sounds like you really only had about 2 days left of the program is that right? I always tell people to do the whole program, but for a couple days I think you will be fine. Plus it has been three days on top of that. If you are real irritable, try and take as much time for yourself as you can. Just sitting alone and reading the paper or a magazine can calm you down. Maybe start doing yoga, they have those on tv all the time. If all else fails and you are really having a hard time talk to your doctor about maybe getting on something temporarily to calm you down. I went on a lose dose of anti depressant and it really helped. You are doing great. Stay smoke free like you are and everything will fall back into place as time goes on I promise.
