Confessions, or what I learned from my failed attempts

I'm glad it wasn't a pleasant experience. That's how I felt the last time I relapsed. I also remembered the smell! Two weeks ago, while my daughter was visiting, she smoked a cig right before we went to church. She leaned over in church to talk to me and her breath smelled awful (worse than Windy's cat!) :(YUCK! Hi crush, I've been where you are quite a few times; except, I DID feel remorse after i smoked that first cig; and then had to relieve the cravings from the first one with another, etc. etc...the vicious, poisonous circle had begun again. I felt tons of remorse for letting the nicotine get ahold of my life again and start controlling me again. I'm not talking about being "down on yourself". We always need to forgive ourselves for our mistakes. I could not change what I had done and I did learn from it. But, I couldn't help but think, "geez, if I hadn't reawakened that nicodevil by smoking again, I would be that much closer to true freedom". I hope that you find the mental conviction to get right back to your quit..40 days is a real accomplishment. The only failure is when one does not learn from the experience. I am glad you are here, honest, and committed to doing it this time.
