LadyArwen, Cutting down on the patch asks your body to again readjust to a lower level of nicotine. Get back to basics: Utilize your coping mechanisms, distractions and rewards to get you through. Try finding another outlet for your emotions: keep a journal, take a run, remove yourself from the situation, distract yourself, phone a friend, post here... whatever works best for you. Hang in there Sillyme... I've seen a lot of patch users post about going through mini-hell weeks for a day or so after stepping down. It WILL pass and you will be all the stronger for it. Hi Ladyawren. Around that one month mark is a down period for a lot of quitters. I didn't use the patch so I really don't have any advise on that subject. I highly recommend finding a couple of quit buddies. They will save you from yourself when you feel like you are losing your mind. If you don't have a quit buddy, keep posting when the going gets tough. Take one step at a time and don't forget the rewards. You have a great quit going and have come too far to turn back now.
