Hi shannon and pinktx,
It is very normal to have problems going to sleep, or problems with waking up during the night, while you are in the process of quitting smoking. It is another side effect of cleaning your body from nicotine. I use tylenol pm sometimes, especially if my back or neck is aching. And I have used melatonin. It helped. Make sure not to drink any caffeinated drinks in the evening, soda pop, coffee, tea, chocolate. That could have a negative effect on sleep patterns also. I learned on this site that nicotine keeps your body from absorbing caffeine. After you quit nicotine, caffeine can have a much stronger effect. Congratulations on your 18 days..awesome.
