Lots of folks cough up brown gunk after quitting. In fact, I think most people do. PAD, I think at age 22 you're not likely to have injured yourself too badly. Lots of us are in our 50s, 60s, and even 70s and smoked for many, many years. I read the other day that no matter how long you smoked, your lungs are greatly healed a year after you quit, and five years after you quit, they are almost as if you had never smoked. Since your chest x-ray was good and the doc says your lungs sound clear, why not focus on the positive benefits of quitting smoking? 14 days is great! I think you get to have a reward now!!!
