smokingsux and other supporters: today was a really good day. i did an hour long workout and my fiance and i talked, and he has been smoking outside now. i let him know AGAIN how serious i was about it, and how selfish and disrespectful he was being. i think it almost hurt his feelings because he thought i would leave him over it. i told him that is not the case. if he wants to smoke that is his choice, but he just needs to consider other people's feelings when he lights up. also, i talked to my dad last night. we just reunited for those of you who didn't know, after 8 long years. he told me about how his father died. he had smoked his whole life and got throat cancer. they said it was so bad they were going to remove his voicebox. when he heard the news, he decided to stop taking his treatments. he said he would rather die than not be able to talk the rest of his life. he was only 40 when he died. i told my fiance the story and i could tell it made him think about it a little more than usual. he is already 30, so i think he realized how close that was to his age. anyway, i feel great about my quit. trust me, it wasn't all roses. i had my day 1&2 breakdown of crying and eating, and i'm sure i'll have more. for the most part, i am just happy i can breathe again! thanks for your concern. how are the rest of you? jane ;p
