Lady, Krispy Kreme - mmm, I love krispy kreme. Don't feel bad, we are all allowed to indulge once in awhile aren't we? Keep up the great work Lady, Melanie __________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi everyone. Lot of quitters, when the Nicotine craving hits, rush to stuff. It sure works to run from the cig to the fig. But now, where do you run from the food craving, some will back to the cig; An endless loop. The idea that it is ok to overstuff oneself in order to quit smoking needs to be explained and qualified much better, as to the stuff you can overfeed yourself with. It is known fact, that quitting Nicotine alone causes weight gain, because the Nicotine burns the fat. So even if your dieting didn't change an ounce you still going to gain weight. Also, I think it would help if our quit smoking plan would also care for the feeding side, so we don't jump from one bad habit to another.

Hi guys, Started reading your thread here, I'm not quite sure how this works but it sounds like a good aid in losing/keeping off unwanted pounds. Are there guidelines somewhere for this eating plan? Thanks Rusty, I think I'll check out the sparkpeople site. I just found out that I'm pre-diabetic so now I have to get serious, also I'm going to check out a book about the "GI Index" that Riverdale suggested in another thread. Oh I wanted to mention to Lady regarding migraines; I suffered with migraines all my life, so bad that I would become nauseous and vomit, the pain was unbearable and my husband would drive me to an emergency ward for IV treatment(with a wet tomel on my head and a garbage pail between my legs) but believe me the ride there was excruciating, every little bump in the road was torture---anyhoo, I did some research on migraine relief and one of the things that almost all resources mentioned was a magnesium deficiency so for the past maybe 3 years I have been taking a magnesium supplement and guess what-I have not had a migraine that sent me to the emergency ward! It may not work for everyone but it sure did work for me.Just thought I would share my experience.
