Hi...... I was a big coffee dtinker and knew that when I quit smoking I conldn't have coffee as it made me crave cigarettes!! I started to drink green tea and on occasion I would have a cafe mocha as a reward or when I really felt I needed coffee. This seems to work for me. Good luck Ballzy

Green tea. I was just reading an article yesterday about the new information linked to green tea, and the absence of cancers. It's always been known that Asians have far less cancers than most other cultures, and they drink 3-4 cups of green tea per day. The article stated what is in the green tea and it's effects of fighting off the pre-cancer cells. Do a search on green tea, and you should come up with all kinds of information. I've found one that I absolutely love, and the flavor is Honey Ginseng. I get it from a tea store online. It smells as good as it tastes! I switched to green mint tea, I found that coffee was one of the biggest triggers for me. Herbal tea is actually good for you too, coffe, if drank in large amounts, can strip your body of essential nutrients, making you feel bad. I would suggest getting a variaty pak of tea- it helps you dring lots of water (which will get the toxins out of your body faster) and it tastes good without cream or sugar. Just my suggestion tho! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 143 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,148 Amount Saved: $506.22 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 11 Mins: 42 Seconds: 50

It's been said that green tea helps with our metabolism....But I still like my coffee in the morning. I drink coffee in the morning, green tea in the afternoon, decaffeinated green tea at night and water all day long. I think sometimes it's better to avoid drinks that act as triggers because we associate them with smoking (i.e. coffee/alcohol) until our quit feels stronger. Good luck! Most definitely green tea !! There are several different flavours available and some of them just blew me away. I found a boutique tea shop online. It is based here in New Zealand and they blend their own teas. WOW I cant say enough about how good they are. Yes gren tea is a great soother and tastes good too. highly recomend it.
